How Can I Make Him See How Much I Love and Respect Him?
If you want to make your relationship last there's one thing you need to give your boyfriend that will make all the difference in the world. It's respect. As long as he feels like he has your respect he'll do everything in his power to keep it. Once he believes he's lost it though, many men will stop trying to get it. Some will shut down while others simply walk away.
By now you know that it's important to get these points across to him. So, what can you do to make your man see just how much you love and respect him?
Keep it Simple
Men are not nearly as complicated as women make them out to be. When you ask what he's thinking about and he says nothing, it's not a conspiracy. His mind is actually a blank page at that moment in time. Men really are capable of thinking about nothing at all.
For the most part, they aren't into the whole reverse psychology or mind reading thing. They want simple and straightforward. That's what you should give them. Make your actions show your respect. Don't try to use flowery words or set an elaborate stage. Make it short, sweet, simple, and consistent.
Do what he Asks – Within Reason
This doesn't mean you need to be his mindless slave. But if he asks you to bring him a soda, do it. You don't need to remind him about all the advances women have burned their bras for over the years or tell him he can do it himself. Just do it. It will make him happy. More importantly, it will show him that he does have your respect.
It costs you nothing to do little things like this and saves the arguments and ill will for things that really matter to you. In letting him 'win' small victories you're telling him that you have enough respect for him to try to please him. That will make him a very happy man.
Respect the Things he Values
You might not understand his fascination with remote control airplanes, video games, or his old college hockey jersey. But, if you show respect for the things he values he will see that as an extension of you showing respect for him. In many ways, they are one and the same as far as he is concerned.
You've probably seen television shows where an old recliner becomes the bone of contention in the relationship. She doesn't understand his attachment. He doesn't understand her resentment. It becomes a constant battle between the two of them. If she had just shown proper deference and respect for his chair BECAUSE it mattered to him it would never have become the huge problem that ended with him walking out and her setting the chair on fire.
Maybe that's a SLIGHT exaggeration but you get the picture. If you show respect for the things that he feels are important, he'll feel as if you're showing respect for him by extension.
When you're working to try to fix things or trying to learn how to get your ex back, respect is vitally important. But your first priority is going to be finding a way to show him this respect when he's not exactly picking up the phone when you call. Be sure to follow the link above to learn all about the power of the second chance letter and what it can do for your chances of getting him back.
