Nourishing And Looking After Your Horse
Whether you are using your horse as a worker, a competitor, or simply a friend, you will need to feed and groom her. A horse cannot live a good life if they are not given the proper care they need and deserve. She must get a healthy diet and she must be inspected regularly for health problems.
Feeding your horse grooming is not very complicated at all. Learn the fundamentals of horse feed and you won't have any problems at all. The first thing you should know about horse feed is the fact that a horse will eat up to two percent of their body weight each and every day of the year.
You may also want to consider giving your horse half of their meals as forage feed. This is healthier for the horse and will help you avoid stomach problems. You can use pelleted feed, just don't make it the only source of food for your horse.
Other types of food that can be fed to your horses are sweet feed and oat feed. There are advantages and disadvantages to each of these kinds of horse feeds. Horse supplements can also be added to most types of feeds.
As we said earlier, you’ll also want to inspect your horse each day while grooming them. When you engage in equine on a daily basis, you will have the chance to check for any horse health issues that may make your horse sick.
It is best to go ahead and wash your horse from top to bottom. After this, you can brush them clean and inspect for any problem signs. You’ll also want to clean your horse’s hooves before and after picking them. Once the hooves are clean and picked, you’ll be able to see any hoof problems that may be forming.
When you find a potential problem, do not panic. Be glad that you found the problem quickly and take the necessary steps to fix the problem. You do not have to do this all by yourself. You can and should call your farrier or veterinarian for help. These people are great at what they do and they will help you get your horse back to perfect health in no time.
